Compliance Monitoring Officer - Market Abuse


Imagine you will be on the front-line in safeguarding the reputation of the Rabobank. As a Compliance Monitoring Officer, you can make a difference as a strong analytical thinker with exceptional writing skills and an affinity with IT projects and/or financial products with a compliance, trading (support), and/or IT background.
  • Subject matter expert level analysis of electronic communications and transactions pertaining to potential market abuse (main task);
  • Promptly investigate and clearly communicate issues arising from the monitoring activities;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of detection scenarios for different classes of financial instruments for automated transaction surveillance;
  • Maintain awareness of key regulatory updates and analyze their impact upon the various activities of the MAC Unit;
  • Executing of the compliance cycle which includes risk assessments, monitoring actions, incident handling, reporting and advise.
  • You will manage relationships and expectations with the applicable internal and external stakeholders, e.g. business (traders) and regulators.

Our Market Abuse & Control Room unit (MAC Unit) team brings talented people together to providing guidance and enforcing internal and external regulations on the topics of Market Abuse and Conflicts of Interests. The MAC Unit has a key role in the promotion and safe-guarding of the integrity and the reputation of Rabobank Group.
With you as a Compliance Monitoring Officer the team will consist of 17 diverse colleagues in a variety of roles.

With you
Customer focus, relationship builder, communicator and proactive are clearly essential for the role of Compliance Monitoring Officer In addition, it's important that you recognise everything in the checklist below:
  • A completed academic education (university-level), preferably in law or economics;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an international compliance, trading (support) or IT environment;
  • Strong analytical skills particularly relating to the financial markets and market abuse.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, -instruments and understanding of its mechanisms, including knowledge of exchange and regulatory rules that apply to trading on and off exchanges, and/or;
  • Trading IT projects, processes and systems preferably related to financial markets are advantageous
  • You are capable of working in a demanding and varied environment;
  • Experience with execution of the compliance cycle which includes risk assessments, monitoring actions, incident handling, reporting and advice.
  • Excellent language skills (oral and written) in English and Dutch (other languages are advantageous);
